Why are there no 'miracles' these days?

Back in the OT days, it seemed one couldn't walk the road to Damascus without stumbling over miracles strewn hither, thither, and yon. Everywhere one looked, miracles. But in our modern day, with the advent of video cameras and educated skeptics, no miracles. Is that because only the ignorant and feeble-minded are capable of being fooled into believing that some ordinary but rare event is a 'miracle'?
