How can one find the ascendant without the birth time?

As you know the date of birth, a birth chart with Moon sign as ascendant may be cast. Then check out your major life events and decide which ascendant support these. By hit and trial you can fix the ascendant and then check with the methods you have mentioned above. In my case non of my sons have the chart according to your method so I can not support that.
