A question for Jehovah's Witnesses......?

John of Damascus lived after the first century. Jehovah's Witnesses believe there was a great apostasy after this time. thus JW's wouldn't give very much thought or research to people after this time when it comes to our own religion. we do have articles in our magazines sometimes about people through history that stood up for bible truth, but as far as i can see from a quick glance, he had some pretty unscriptural ideas, i havent looked in detail tho :-(
